Project Manager – Shutdowns 

Location: Mackay, QLD (with extended site-based work in the Bowen Basin)
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

About the Role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering back-to-back shutdowns across multiple mine sites in the Bowen Basin. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing shutdown teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Driving a strong safety culture by ensuring all shutdown activities comply with strict safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.

  • Coordinating all aspects of shutdowns, including contract documentation, schedules, budget tracking, and performance reporting.

  • Motivating and directing team members to achieve project success while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

  • Ensuring strict compliance with commercial contracts, engineering standards, and workplace health & safety regulations.

  • Mentoring and coaching personnel to drive continuous improvement and enhance safety awareness across all operations.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • A Mechanical or Structural trade background (Dragline experience preferred).

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Proven success in delivering medium and large-scale shutdown projects safely and efficiently.

  • The ability to build scope of works from tender documentation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Microsoft Project.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.

  • A proactive commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and risk management.
